                               RESOLUTION NO. 21287
                 
                  A RESOLUTION TO HONOR REGGIE WHITE BY
                  PROCLAIMING MARCH 1, 1997, AS "REGGIE WHITE
                  DAY" IN CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE.
                 
                 
                                                    
                 
                 
       	    WHEREAS, Chattanooga, Tennessee is the home town of Reggie
       White; and,
      
       	    WHEREAS, Reggie White has distinguished himself as one of 
the
       most outstanding athletes in the country, most recently as a
       member of the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers; and,
      
       	    WHEREAS, more importantly, Reggie White is an extraordinary
       individual and an inspirational role model for both young and old 

       alike; and,    	  
      
       	    	 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and the City
       Council of Chattanooga hereby declare March 1, 1997, as
                                REGGIE WHITE DAY
       in Chattanooga and urge all citizens to recognize the superlative 

       achievements of one of our native sons;
